Quiet praise,
quietly earned.
Every review here is from a real owner of a real Olea & Hound portrait. We don't pay for them. We don't filter the unflattering ones. Below, the good, the honest, and the occasionally tearful.
"I cried when I unwrapped it. The Renaissance style caught something in Hugo's eyes that no photograph ever did. It's already on the mantelpiece."
"Ordered Friday, on the wall by Wednesday. Quality is genuinely museum-grade — I'd hang this in a gallery. Five days, as promised."
"Got this as a Memorial portrait of our late cat Marlow. The reverence in the rendering — it actually looks like her. Thank you for being gentle about it."
"Bought it as a surprise for my husband — Bailey is his shadow. He hasn't stopped looking at it. The framing alone would have cost €60 at a proper gallery."
"Was sceptical about AI portraits — assumed it would look generic. It doesn't. The first preview made me sit down. Toby's exact expression."
"Loved the Renaissance one but my partner preferred the Watercolour. Wish we could have ordered both at a slight discount. Bought separately, no regrets. Quality is excellent."
"Three friends in three weeks asked where it was from. I refuse to call it an AI portrait — it's a painting now."
"Pop Art for our greyhound Iris — the colour palette they chose somehow matched our kitchen perfectly. It's the brightest thing in the house and we love it."
"Memorial portrait of our late labrador Bran. I waited two years to find something that didn't feel cheap. This was it. The light through his fur — exactly him."

The complaints
we've actually had.
We don't hide negative reviews. Here are the recurring criticisms — and what we've done about them.
"The first preview didn't capture my pet."+
It happens — particularly with very dark or very white pets, where photographic detail can wash out. In 2025 we added an automatic likeness check that re-renders previews that don't pass. We re-generate at no cost; you simply see better previews. If the printed final portrait still doesn't recognise your pet, we refund 100% — see our policy.
"Wish I could see the portrait in my actual frame at home."+
We're working on a "see it on your wall" AR preview for late 2026. For now, A3 framed measures 50×60cm overall — a good benchmark for above-sofa or hallway placement.
"The Pop Art colours weren't what I expected."+
Pop Art picks a palette based on your pet's natural colouring — so the same style can look very different across two pets. If you don't love the palette, pick another style; you see all six previews before buying anything.
"Shipping to the US took longer than five days."+
We promise five working days inside Europe. US shipping is typically 7-10 working days end-to-end — we should be clearer about this on the order page, and we're updating that now. UK, Ireland, EU: five days. US, Canada, Australia: 7-10.
